(11/14/2009) Beritabali.com confirms that the spread of the potentially deadly rabies contagion has now spread to seven of Bali's nine regencies and municipalities. Rabies cases have now been confirmed in Badung, Denpasar, Tabanan, Bangli, Buleleng, Karangasem and Gianyar.
The Head of Bali's Animal Husbandry Department, Ida Bagus Alit, told the press on November 11, 2009, that only the regencies of Klungkung and Jembrana can claim to still be without positively confirmed cases of the disease.
Local authorities are undertaking an education program for local residents, vaccination of pets, and a controversial eradication program of stray dog populations in all areas of Bali in an effort to stem the further spread of rabies.
At least 15 human fatalities in Bali have been linked to the illness since November 2008.

Jeder geimpfte Hund bekommt ein oranges Halsband und alle die ohne besagtes Halsband angetroffen werden, werden erschossen oder vergiftet.
